Ukrainian Club of Moncton

Ukrainian Association of Moncton, also known as Ukrainian Club of Moncton, is a non-profit organization established in 1975 with over 500 active members as of September 2023. Its primary mission used to be the preservation and promotion of Ukrainian culture in Greater Moncton through educational initiatives, community gatherings and cultural events.

After February 2022

In response to the full-scale war in Ukraine started by Russia in February 2022, the focus of the organisation and efforts of its members has been shifted towards the support of the Ukrainians affected by the war. Fundraising events created a great opportunity for the club members to help Ukrainian defenders and civilians, providing them with lifesaving medication and other essential supplies. Ukrainian

The Association of Moncton has been actively advocating for the needs and interests of Ukrainians fleeing from the war to the Greater Moncton area, providing them with community support and important information upon arrival. In collaboration with other impactful organisations and individuals, many useful webinars, workshops, language classes, networking events, and employment fairs were organised to help newcomers to adapt quickly, find jobs and become valuable members of the New Brunswick community.

In April 2022, the Association proudly established Ukrainian Hub in downtown Moncton owing to the support of helpful Monctonians. “The Hub” has become a thriving cultural center with Ukrainian school, after-school activities, art classes, sport sessions, and information sessions for Ukrainians. The Hub also serves as a collecting point for clothing, household items and furniture for displaced Ukrainians. Those items are generously donated by the community members.

How Funds are Spent

The funds raised at the fundraisers are used to purchase and distribute essential supplies for the Ukrainian Army, including iFak medical kits, essential medications, protective gear, heating elements, functional clothing, etc. Our mission is to ensure that the brave soldiers defending Ukraine have the resources they need to carry the defense of our homeland.

The Association allocates a certain portion of funds for the development of cultural activities and services available to Ukrainian immigrants. Books for the library, supplies for the Ukrainian school, art supplies, equipment for the music band and dance club, and more - all of this is possible owing to donations at the fundraisers.
